Do not let anyone steal your joy

I can say with certainty that misery loves company, and you are the company you keep. Man did you get that? I hope so! There are people in this world that would like nothing better than to drag you into the whole the have dug themselves into. We sometimes allow ourselves to go because of a couple of reasons; one is we never saw it coming until we were in there with them, two they are people we feel a connection to, and three we think we can save them from it. Do not be fooled some of these people are right where they want to be and there is nothing we can do, say, or show them that will cause them to switch it up. Some people wake up on the wrong side of the bed everyday, actually I think they go to sleep on the wrong side. We never stand a chance, because nothing is ever good for them. They want one thing and life sucks without it, then one day they get it, and guess what life still sucks for them. I have had the displeasure of being in the presence of people like this and for a longtime I dealt with it, because I am a naturally chipper person. I realized recently that slowly, but surely it was starting to change my attitude, grammar, and vocabulary. The change was not good and only people that know me from a longtime ago picked up on it. I was hurt that I had to let go of some friends, but then I thought about it and I was ok. You know why? A friendship has to benefit you somehow, rather it be just a good conversation...these people were bringing nothing to the table and taking away all my energy. I finally woke up, realized it was time to refuel and I did it. Think about who and what you have in your life. Does it benefit you in any way? Trust me if there are no benefits then you may what to really sit down and evaluate your dealings with that individual. Do not let anyone steal your joy, because some people will steal yours and put it in their tank.
