Thankful

Recent events and I am not just talking about what happened in Japan. There have been natural and non-natural disasters happening for the last couple of years, resulting in massive death tolls. I watch the news and I am appalled. Not only are adults committing murders left and right, kids are as well. It seems that life is cheap and not at all valued anymore. It does make me sad on one hand, but on the other, I am very thankful. I am thankful that I still have time to show my loved ones just how much I love them. I am thankful that all my needs are taken care of, and I am thankful that I still have time to try to make the world better.

We should try to help the less fortunate and I am not saying it has to be money. Time and affection is something we can do free of charge, but means so much to the people that do not have it. It is not about creating a big fuss and letting the world know you care. It is actually about doing it and letting that be enough compensation. The world is hurting and it seems as though some people care only about self. While it is vital to take care of yourself we should also try to help those in a situation worse than us. If you feel your situation is bad all you have to do is watch world news. There is civil wars going on, Japan has been devastated, and then you have local murders and robberies. If you are lucky enough to be reading this it means you still have time to do better and you should try.
