Respect

Why is so many people caught up in their beliefs? No, I am not saying forget everything you know and have been taught, to believe what I am saying. What I am saying is the same way you are firm and passionate about what you believe, the next person is about what they believe. I grew up learning one thing, but I have no problem with people that are against what I believe and have been taught something else. The great thing about this crazy world is that we are all granted certain freedoms. One of those freedoms is the use of our minds. A person can tell you anything, but it is up to you and only you to receive that as fact and/or law. I have entered debates with certain people who call others out over their faith and my single question is why is what you believe better than what I believe?

I always vote and suggest mutual respect. Respect is such a small word, but has a huge impact in how we view others and how others view us. I come off very strong to people who do not know me and some even call me a bitch (among other things lol)....but it does not affect me, because 9 x out of 10 they do not know me on a personal level. What someone says about me and what I believe myself to be are two different things. It used to bother me a lot that a person did not like me or thought something different from what and who I am, now I could care less. If you do not take the time to talk to me, then make an assumption and keep it moving. A person has no power over my mind; a person cannot shake me, why? My feet are firm and I know who I am...but respect I give to all and I expect it as well. I do not have to like you or agree with you to respect you and me say this to you all if you cannot deal with someone that is fine leave them alone, but there is no need to get nasty or offend people.
